Key Services of SSWT
Will Writing Support
One of the biggest challenges for seniors is planning their legacy. Many seniors die intestate, leading to disputes and harassment for their heirs. SSWT runs awareness programs and offers free guidance to help seniors write clear and legally valid Wills. Trained volunteers assist in drafting, explaining legal formalities, and ensuring that assets are transferred smoothly after death.
RTI Petition Assistance
Transparency and accountability are crucial in governance. Seniors often face difficulties in accessing their entitlements and services from government departments. SSWT helps them file Right to Information (RTI) applications. Volunteers assist in drafting, submitting, and tracking replies. This not only resolves individual grievances but also strengthens seniors’ confidence in exercising their rights.
Digital Literacy
The digital divide isolates many seniors from essential services like online banking, healthcare apps, and social communication. SSWT conducts digital literacy classes to teach seniors how to use smartphones, WhatsApp, email, UPI payments, and social media safely. A special emphasis is laid on digital safety to prevent online fraud and scams.
Medical Help and Guidance
SSWT recognizes that health is the biggest concern for seniors. Volunteers assist with hospital appointments, test reports, medicine availability, and emergency contacts. Tie-ups with local hospitals and doctors provide seniors with affordable and reliable medical care. Free health camps, eye check-ups, and dental camps are also organized regularly.
Entertainment and Cultural Programs
Loneliness is one of the most serious issues for single seniors. To combat this, SSWT organizes regular birthday celebrations, musical evenings, poetry recitals, tambola games, tours, and picnics. These events not only entertain but also foster bonding, friendship, and joy among members.
